Antica Bastia Bastia is a charming family-run Guest House set on the hill of Monte Bastia, slightly higher than the nearby San Vigilio hill.
Take one of the two characteristic funicular railways from the city to reach San Vigilio, and at the top you can see the ancient castle ruins.
From the small San Vigilio church, built on an ancient chapel dating back to the 8th century, there is a magnificent view of the city.
Follow Via San Vigilio for about 500m to the crossroad with Via Monte Bastia, turn right and continue down to the lower part of the street. The Antica Bastia Guest House is about 150m away.

The building
The grounds around the building cover about half an acre towards the valley known as 'delle Sorgenti' and more than an acre and a half towards Via Castagneta. To continue local agriculture, a vineyard and orchard have been planted on this land, where ancient chestnut trees still grow.
The building is located on a landscaped ridge that slopes towards the north-east and is part of the "Agricultural forest park area" of the Parco dei Colli di Bergamo, with the advantage of being immersed in nature and silence despite being in the city.
The property around the building extends on one side for about half a hectare up to the valley called “delle Sorgenti” and on the other side for more than one and a half hectares towards via Castagneta.
To revitalize the landscape of the ancient local agricultural fabric, a vineyard and an orchard have been planted on the land where there are still ancient chestnut groves.
The courtyard and garden are equipped for outdoor entertainment.
Besides visits to the town, which can be reached quickly on foot or by public transport, there are many interesting places to see in the surrounding area.
